When I started practicing yoga I had little understanding of the principles beyond finding flexibility and space in the physical body. As my practiced continued, I started looking deeper at the way I was living and how / why it mattered to be intentional.
The first of the Niyamas in the eight-limbed path of yoga is Saucha, which translates to purity or “cleanliness” of the mind, body and spirit. If we understand that there is impact to everything we do, see, touch, and consume, we can begin to cultivate Saucha by living mindfully and treating our bodies as a sacred vessel, leading us to a pure mind and heart.
This Saturday, October 15th I’m presenting a Community Dinner at Soma Yoga Center], as an opportunity to put this into practice.
The food that I create and the way that I share, it is sincerely with all with love. The appreciation and the medicine of food is woven into the magic that is created when we sit with each other. To me, this opens and purifies our hearts. To me, this is Saucha.
We have a handful of seats left! We’ll connect, we’ll share, we’ll eat delicious food ✨
