Beef stroganoff from scratch 🍽️.
Steak tips or ground beef (seared in a pan until browned). Remove from stove and set aside to make sauce.
Using same pan you cooked the beef melt half stick of butter.
Add half of yellow onion (finely chopped) and minced garlic. Sautéed until translucent.
Add mushrooms (I did 8 ounces but if you want more protein do 12oz). Sauté until mushrooms start to brown.
In a separate pot boil water for pasta. Use a high protein pasta if it’s what your macros require.
Back to the pan of mushrooms onion garlic - add in 4 tbsp of flour to thicken the sauce. Then add in the beef broth. I used a whole container but recipe called for 1 cup. I used 4 cups so there was enough sauce to go around. Stir on medium heat try to avoid bringing to a boil. Add salt pepper to taste.
Add back in the beef to the sauce and simmer. Slowly add sour cream to the sauce to get a more “creamy” texture.
Once pasta is cooked in boiling water drain and serve. Scoop the sauce and pour over the pasta. ENJOY!
