The Pacer PT Team is grateful to spend the morning collaborating with the incredible Mount Auburn midwives 💫

Our team shared our passion for pelvic health physical therapy and how it plays a powerful role in pregnancy and postpartum recovery. We spoke about more current evidence, cases we see in clinic, and how we can work together to best support our patients!

This kind of multidisciplinary care—where midwives, PTs, and other providers come together—is how we truly support the whole person.

Here’s to better outcomes, more support for women during this transformative time, and empowering care at every stage of the journey 💪🙌

✨Pelvic Health Physical Therapy at Pacer PT

Physical therapists are a key provider in supporting you in return to exercise after having a baby 🤱, preparing you for labor and delivery, and recovering with confidence postpartum!

Although the US has not standardized this referral source yet, it is important for all moms to know that it is an option for you with or without pain, so you can feel confident with mom tasks!

If you heard your doctor at your 6 week follow up appointment say “you are cleared to return to exercise, intimacy, and all the things you did before baby..”

Did you ever feel intimated by this or not know where to start?

A physical therapist who specializes in pelvic health and postpartum recovery can support you in education and understanding how to take on motherhood symptom free! 🙌

Some things we can do include:
✨ Early mobility and education on posture during feeding and carrying baby
✨Support in recovery from vaginal tear or C-section incision discomfort
✨ Teach strategies to improve pelvic floor and abdominal function and strength
✨ Build a strength program based on your fitness level and goals with the appropriate exercise progressions
✨ Provide education based around healing timelines so you feel confident with returning to all the activities you love!
