Grounding myself at the beach, being around women who inspire me, and stuffing my face with Mexican food before heading back to Boston was just what the doctor ordered 🌊

Crazy how when you have something everyday, like a feeling or a possession or even your favorite snack, it looses its meaning.

Something as simple as flowers or vines, rainbows or sunshine, are all things that, here in Boston, aren’t around all the time.

And how I look forward to every spring to watch Boston grow with life.

Over the last year, I’ve been searching high and low something that you constantly provide me ā€˜happiness’.

Maybe if I was around these people or had this type of job I would be happy.

But just like the sun, there is rain. And just like happiness, there is sadness.

It took a while for me to realize that happiness isn’t a destination or something to look forward to, it’s a state of being. And it would simply lose its meaning/value without the other many emotions.

I’m learning to find beauty in cycle and ā€˜changing of seasons’.

Why as adults do we stop doing things that bring us joy?

I’ve noticed I never truly laugh anymore, I am always so serious, and focused and worries about ā€˜adult things’ like bills and a career.

But what ever happened to doing things that bring us childlike joy?

Today I sat on a park bench with and we laughed our asses off while painting each others faces. It was so funny and liberating and just the perfect thing I needed, especially after a very serious year.

I’m challenging myself to let my walls down and allow my inner child to come out. To skip down the street, to play hopscotch, to dance to the Jonas Brothers, to wear more color, and to simply just allow things that make me happy into my life no matter how crazy I look!

Thanks for sparking joy in me again

In a world of comparison, many of us often look at who we are in this moment and desire something ā€˜better’ and ā€˜bigger’. This constant sense of never feeling enough.

But who we are now is part of the story that explains how and where we end up. No one likes a missing chapter in a story.

A morning routine is something that is so heavily talked about in the Self Love community.

For years I would plan out my mornings: wake up at 5am, yoga 5:15am, meditate 5:30, read 5:45, journal 6am.... and so on.

What I’ve realized is simple enjoyable tasks in the morning is the way to go. Don’t put times on it, or an amount. Your just waking up so be compassionate and patient with yourself.

For me it was important that I start my days off on a positive note. I read a page of the for some inspiration, then jot down what I’m most grateful for and reflect in my . And to top it off, I read, sometimes it’s 5 min other times 45 min.

I guess what I’m trying to say is when it comes to a morning routine, be patient and kind and do things that not only prepare you for your day but are enjoyable as wellšŸ¤

This year, for a lot of us, our bodies have changed. Personally, I can’t fit into last year’s clothes. So what did I do? I bought new clothes. Bigger clothes. Clothes that allowed my body to feel and move freely.

It took me a long time to feel comfortable with that. To admit to myself my body is changing. But why?

In our society, change is something many of us don’t like. It’s uncomfortable. Maybe even feels scary. But change is also where we learn the most about who we are.

I learned that my self worth is so much more than my body, it’s size, it’s dimples, curves, and lines.

This body is my vessel, is allows me to get through the storms and waves of this life (in this case a world wide pandemic!!)

I am thankful of my scars, bumps, and dimples because it reminds me that I got through those storms and waves. I made it to the other side.

Redirection. Heal. Rest.

These are the words that described my 2020. Looking at the opportunities, the friendships, the knowledge i have now about myself, I wouldn’t be here without redirection, healing, and rest.

I hope you find your little silver lining in this year. Comment below your words that you feel like have been with you all year! šŸ‘‡šŸ¼

ā€œFall in love with taking care of yourselfā€œ This is one of my favorite quotes.

I’m not saying it’s easy. You are going to need patience, compassion and respect for your own unique journey. But I dare you to fall in love with taking care of yourself. It will never be something you regret.
