“We’re losing workers we cannot replace,” said Jake Krilovich, Executive Director of the Home Care Alliance of Massachusetts. “It’s difficult enough to find home care workers. To take out a whole subset of those workers that are providing care — it’s going to be devastating.”
Shifting federal immigration policy is already having a real and immediate impact on home care providers across Massachusetts. Some agencies have received notices from the Department of Homeland Security requesting employment verification for hundreds of aides—many of whom are now at risk of losing their jobs due to changes in legal status.
At a time when the demand for in-home care is surging, these policies are gutting a critical part of the workforce. We are working with our state and federal partners, and taking action to protect this essential workforce and the patients who rely on them.
If your agency has been contacted by DHS or affected by these policy shifts, contact us directly. Your voice strengthens our advocacy.
