I watched ’s on . Being that I’m a who practices , I was intrigued to watch it. Here is my primary take away, if you’re so interested. ❤️…and yes, you should watch it, too.

Though it feels unclear just how I should engage in this conversation (𝘩𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘭𝘺, 𝘪𝘵 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭𝘴 𝘢 𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘴𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘰 𝘴𝘰), it also feels incredibly important for me to at least try because I believe one’s commitment to can not be based one’s comfort. ⁣

As a , my reflex pulls me to want to protect by intellectualizing her microaggression through “explaining” it in the context of the modern understanding of , , and in the United States. I think a lot of us have…but let’s not. By doing so, we’re re-centering this conversation away from history and the experiences of Jewish people (𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘮𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘶𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘥), ultimately missing an incredible opportunity for each of us to learn more. ❤️⁣

So instead, I’m trying to sit in my own as this moment has revealed to me that I have much to reconsider regarding the topic of …and even more to learn. ⁣

Thank you, for this insight and historical context. I hope others find it as helpful as I did.
