CALLING ALL HIV ADVOCATES …

We are less than 2 DAYS from National African Immigrant and Refugee HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis Awareness Day on Sept. 9th! In order to we need to , and all communities disproportionately impacted by HIV and other diseases, such as HBV.

In solidarity, join our effort to make a LOUD noise on social media on 9/9 and bring needed attention to the HIV and HVB epidemic among African immigrants.

This 5-minute online assessment is designed to determine an individual’s risk for viral hepatitis by asking questions based on the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) guidelines for testing and vaccination. The Assessment allows individuals to answer questions privately and print out their recommendations to discuss with their doctor.

Tomorrow at the Boston Living Center Beth Hastie and others from the Treat Lypodistrophy Coalition will discuss the advocacy work being done in the state to require insurance companies to cover treatment for Lypodistrophy for HIV+ individuals.

The workshop will be from 1:45 – 3:30 in BLC Library on the second floor. The workshop is part of the 3rd Thursdays at the Boston Living Center series.

Next Month: Thursday, June 20th - Ben Perkins from Fenway Institute will be coming to do an update on HIV treatment, research and policy and prevention.
