Sharing knowledge and expertise to make a real difference. In April, we had the privilege of hosting the largest global neurosurgery symposium in Boston, with one clear goal: improving access to care worldwide.

The MGB Global Neurosurgery Symposium brought together impactful and dynamic leaders from all over the globe, each contributing their expertise to drive the conversation forward.

The event concluded with the Boston Declaration, signed by 100+ global health advocates, and set the stage for our program to bring care to low- and middle-income communities.

Additionally, 90 commitments from major neurosurgical programs will help strengthen efforts to bring care where it’s needed most.

This is just the beginning of a larger movement.

Bonnie and her husband Richard are living proof that life doesn't slow down in your 70s- it just gets better.

In 2018, Bonnie was facing a major stroke. But thanks to rapid action and a catheter-based intervention by our team at Brigham, she made a full recovery.

Today, she's back to what matters most- traveling, making memories, and cherishing time with her grandson. Because when it comes to stroke, every second counts.

Through the generosity of many and fundraising efforts of Afghan-American Community Organization - AACO & NeuroKids, Inc., we will be sending operative cameras to Kenya, where we will train Afghan surgeons to perform minimally invasive surgery to cure hydrocephalus. Honored for the opportunity to bridge the gap and bring vital knowledge to underserved areas.

Tech allows those in our industry to connect globally even more intricately than ever before. I am passionate about using technology to connect the world. Surgeons in Afghanistan are now leveraging Zoom and smart glasses and advanced tech to attend virtual conferences, watch live surgeries, and improve their skills in real-time. This innovative and bi-lateral approach is bringing expert knowledge directly to the operating room on both sides.

By connecting with global specialists, Afghan surgeons are gaining vital insights to enhance patient care and outcomes. Technology is truly revolutionizing healthcare and empowering professionals worldwide!

When I first met Dylan, he was a determined young man facing a daunting diagnosis: ruptured aneurysm. Despite the challenges, his resilience and optimism were unwavering. Over the years, he's made an amazing recovery and reclaimed his future.

Today, Dylan turned his story of overcoming adversity into a source of creative inspiration. To honor his journey and the role brain surgery played in his life, he got a tattoo of his craniotomy from surgery—a powerful symbol of strength and transformation.
