Shriners Children's Boston provides pediatric specialty care regardless of families ability to pay. Our areas of care include acute burn care, plastic, reconstructive and laser surgery, cleft lip and palate treatment and general orthopaedics.

Glass-fronted fireplaces are festive during the holiday season, as they’re beautiful to look at, but they’re also a potential danger to toddlers. Surface temperatures can be as high as 172 degrees Fahrenheit, and a child can get a full-thickness burn in less than one second.

To help keep children safe, be sure to install protective barriers and keep them away from any fireplaces or wood-burning stoves.

Shriners Children’s Boston recently attended the Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors World Burn Congress in Kentucky. As New England’s longest-running, verified pediatric burn center, we were honored to connect with burn survivors, healthcare professionals, and advocates dedicated to advancing burn care. Thank you, Agnes and Sophia from our research team, for sharing with attendees how Shriners Children’s Boston is a leader in research and pediatric burn care.
