Cutting federal funding off from providers of this care is just one of many tactics President Trump and his allies are using to try to rip away our rights and freedoms. This cruel policy could wipe out gender-affirming care in many parts of the country, endangering the lives of countless young people.

We affirm, with love and care for Planned Parenthood’s trans and gender-expansive patients, staff, and community across Massachusetts, that trans women are women and they deserve to be safe in their community and empowered in their leadership.
This week, as we honor the lives lost to anti-trans hate and violence, we also call on our leaders and allies to support, protect, and affirm trans people with both words and action. The future of our community depends on it.

Planned Parenthood showed up and stayed out late at the State House for a public hearing on H.1991 An Act relative to abortion care for young people, filed by Rep. Dawne Shand. Advocates, providers, and lawyers agreed that abortion is health care, the judicial system has no place in clinical decisions, and that true reproductive freedom means access for everyone, including for young people.

Shoutout State Chair State Senator Lydia Edwardse Vice Chair Brandy Fluker Oakley State Representative 12th Suffolk District for chairing yesterday's hearing - a historic first time the Judiciary Committee was chaired by two Black women!

In 2025 alone, more than 60 bans or restrictions on trans health care were introduced. Today and everyday trans and nonbinary patients will always be welcome at Planned Parenthood health centers, regardless of how they express their gender identity.
Here at PPLM and PPAF, we strive to make our community a safe, supportive environment for all patients and make sure the gender identities of all patients are acknowledged, respected, and understood.

🎉Introducing our new executive director, Mason Dunn!

A lawyer and educator, Mason (he/they) has over 15 years of experience in LGBTQ+ and health care advocacy. Their work has shaped our state’s nation-leading protections and civil rights for LGBTQ+ people, including state mandates for gender affirming health care, nondiscrimination laws, and inclusive gender markers on state IDs.

As executive director of Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund of Massachusetts, Mason will be leading our advocacy work, forging partnerships, and continuing to build the people power around Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts and PPAF's mission to ensure every person who lives in (or visits) Massachusetts has the ability to make their own health care decisions and access care that is affordable, high-quality, and inclusive.
