Center for Stem Cell Therapeutics and Imaging

Center for Stem Cell Therapeutics and Imaging Dedicated to translational research in stem cell based cancer therapeutics, affiliated with Brigham and Women's Hospital & Harvard Medical School

The overall mission of the Center for Stem Cell Therapeutics and Imaging (CSTI) is to develop and test novel targeted stem cell based therapies for cancer. CSTI capitalizes on the unique expertise of its faculty and fellows in interdisciplinary research spanning stem cell and tumor cell biology, cell signaling, genetic engineering and molecular imaging as well as our proven abilities to synthesize new insights from disparate fields, to lead interdisciplinary teams into new territory.

CSTI’s new study showing the value of engineered off the shelf cellular therapy for metastatic cancer:

Basal-like breast cancer (BLBC) shows brain metastatic (BM) capability and overexpresses EGFR and death-receptors 4/5 (DR4/5); however, the anatomical location of BM prohibits efficient drug-delivery to these targetable markers. In this study, we developed BLBC-BM mouse models featuring different pa...

Our new study published in Nature Comm. on immune phenotyping highly malignant brain tumors!

Syngeneic mouse models for glioblastoma (GBM) cannot fully recapitulate clinical findings and response to therapy in patients. Here the authors perform a comprehensive immune profiling of different syngeneic GBM tumour models and compare it with the immune landscape of GBM patients to identify simil...

Cell based therapies are emerging as a promising strategy for cancer. We have developed cell surface receptor targeted adult stem cells, cancer cells and T cells expressing novel bi-functional immunomodulatory proteins and oncolytic viruses. Using recently established tumor models that mimic clinica...
