Bruising can occur for about 2 weeks after you get injections, to reduce chances of bruising avoid these. They all have properties that increase your risk of bruising.

I know the gym can be very tempting, but you should avoid it for at least 24 hours after getting injections. Strenuous activity can cause the neurotoxin to migrate and make it less effective in the intended area.

One size fits all doesn’t work with anti-wrinkle injections. Dosing completely depends on your own facial structure. Sometimes, you may require two extra units on one side to achieve symmetry. For someone who has never gotten injections before, they may require less units than someone who has been getting injections for years. It’s important to mention this to your injector so they can dose correctly!

Any anti-wrinkle injection including Botox and Xeomin are not forever-fixes for wrinkles. Overtime it wears off and your muscles regain the same function they had prior to injection. In other words, the same wrinkles you had before will come back. For those who have been using these products for a while or first-time users, results may vary. It’s important to let your injector know if you have a history of getting injections so that they can use the right dose for you so you can get the results you want to see.

For the first 24 hours following your appointment alcohol is a no-no. Alcohol has blood-thinning properties and is a vasodilator which increases blood flow throughout your body (including your face). This can increase bruising and swelling around injection sites.

It’s so important to come to your appointment with a clean face! If you have makeup on before your appointment, this could potentially introduce bacteria into injection sites which could lead to infection. Plus, I will need to scrub your face with more alcohol which can cause skin dryness. To make it easier on you and your injector, it’s appreciated to come in with a nice natural face for the best results.
