community, connection, and movement that means something — that’s what Rachel brings to every class at The Point.
“My favorite thing about teaching for The Point Barre & Yoga is the high-level of community. It's no secret that Boston and the North Shore have a ton of franchise studios/gyms — but our students choose to invest in a locally owned business (a women owned business, at that!). Our community comes to the studio to engage, learn, connect, and recenter in ways that other commercial spaces simply can't replicate. That's special! All of the instructors at The Point work hard to make our classes as approachable as possible, so try out different ones to see which format and instructor resonates with you!”

“Yoga has an interesting way of finding you at a time in your life when you're most in need of it, so if you feel pulled to try out a class, honor your curiosity and try it out. I reconnected with yoga during COVID lock-down when the gyms closed and my grief was compounded after my mom was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's. Yoga was a life raft in a stormy period of my life and it's been my saving grace ever since, so I'm glad I followed through on my urge to practice. For anyone wanting to try it out — even though I teach power yoga and its title feels intimidating (‘power’ is a bit intense sounding, right?) — I want to emphasize that my classes are paced appropriately, with time for pranayama (breath work), meditation, and asana (movement/postures).”

“Sculpt is a high-intensity, interval-based, asana-inspired, FUN class! Whether you're at day one in your fitness journey, you're coming back after a break, or you're in maintenance mode — each time you hit your mat in sculpt, it's like a fresh start. It's up to each person to decide what they want to get out of their class on a given day. I'm on the same journey, so don't be shy and let's move together!”
