🐾 Meet (almost) 5-year-old, Khai, the Alaskan Klee Kai!

🦶 Khai’s parents brought her in when her left hind paw began to bother her. She was hesitant to use her paw and was licking it excessively.

🤒 A physical exam, X-rays, and a skin cytology (microscopic analysis of skin cells) indicated that Khai was most likely suffering from cellulitis, a type of bacterial skin infection.

💊 A course of antibiotics was prescribed by the team to treat Khai. Her owners’ feedback and a recheck exam proved that the treatment resolved the infection. Woohoo!

🥺 We share some terribly bittersweet news with you all today: Dr. Antonio finished his last day at Boston Animal Hospital this past Saturday. He has discovered his passion for emergency veterinary medicine and will be joining an incredible nearby specialty hospital.

❤️ There aren’t enough good things to say about Dr. Antonio. His addition to Boston Animal Hospital was such a light to patients, clients, and staff. His love for his patients is palpable and he went above and beyond to help clients navigate difficult situations. Internally, he brought our staff together when times were difficult with his amazing sense of humor.

🫂 We will miss him, but we cannot wait to watch him soar and thrive as an ER veterinarian. We hope your pets never have to see him, but please know they will be in the best of hands. Thank you for everything, Dr. Antonio!

😀 Say hello to Mochi, the almost 1-year-old Frenchie! Mochi will be spayed by our team at our Southampton St. location soon.

🩸 Prior to anesthetic procedures, we draw blood for a complete blood count (CBC) to make sure patients can be safely anesthetized. Mochi has been cleared for her spay based on her CBC results! 🥳

🥰 Mochi was a doll during her blood draw for Vet Tech Assistant Sarah. We can’t wait to see her again in a few days!

🐱 It’s not totally uncommon for us to see double pet appointments, but it sure is for triples!

👋 Domestic shorthairs Oliver, Milo, and Tito came in for their annual exams and vaccinations with Dr. Dreske. All three left with cleans bills of health! 🥳
