Scientists at BIDMC have developed a next-generation mRNA tuberculosis (TB) vaccine candidate that outperformed the century-old TB shot in animal models — reducing infection, limiting spread, and triggering strong immune responses.

With clinical trials ahead, this innovative approach could mark a major step forward in protecting people of all ages against the world’s deadliest infectious disease.

Heading into October baseball, the Boston Red Sox honored Taylor St. Jacques as a Medical All-Star. Taylor is a Pathologists' Assistant in the pathology department at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Taylor plays a vital role in educating and mentoring residents in the pathology department and is described by her coworkers as “hardworking, amazing, patient and a die-hard Red Sox fan!”

We are proud to announce the appointment of Stuart J. Schnitt, MD, as Chief of our new Division of Cancer Pathology, and Muneeb Ahmed, MD, as Chief of our new Division of Cancer Radiology at BIDMC.

After a stage 4 cancer diagnosis, Wilmington native Stephen Rossetti pressed pause on his beloved family trips to Las Vegas. Now, thanks to the Dream Foundation and the compassionate support of the oncology team at BIDMC – Wi******er Center for Cancer Care, he’s heading back to the Strip to make new memories with the people he loves most. 💜🎲

"I had a goal to visit every pro baseball stadium (I've been to 24). The first time I came to Fenway Park was with my dad as a kid and we went up to the Green Monster. It is such a full circle moment being up on the Monster, now in my first aid uniform."
