The JSA, along with many other student organizations have signed a statement as we believe in the protection of student rights. We denounce the violent and oppressive behaviour of Northeastern University amidst the peaceful protests that have taken place on campus.

We have still not received a response to our statement sent on 4/29. Since then, we have grown by nearly 60 member organizations. As a coalition of student organizations, we reiterate our demands and call on the Northeastern University administration to engage with students. We continue to condemn the University’s actions. N-JIN is excited to announce that we will be hosting a Hanami this April! Hanami refers to “flower viewing” in Japan, when people gather to enjoy the blossoming of sakura flowers each spring🌸✨

Join us at Boston Commons for a potluck-style picnic with friends from schools across the greater Boston area! We plan to bring activities like wiffle ball, frisbee, and card games, but please feel free to bring your own games + snacks to share (HIGHLY ENCOURAGED!) 🍬🍙🏸⚾️

If possible, please also bring your own picnic blankets/sheets so you can sit down and relax with your friends!

13 years ago today on March 11th at 2:46pm, one of the largest earthquakes with a magnitude of 9.0 hit Japan. The impact of the earthquake triggered tsunamis up to 40.5 meters (133ft) high to crash upon the Tohoku region, also causing the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster.

The damage resulted with 19,500+ deaths and 6,200+ injuries, with 2,500+ still missing to this day. Today, many of Japan still remain affected, unable to return home and mourning the loss of their loved ones.

Please join us in remembering those impacted by the triple disaster. We send love and hope to all who were, and continue to be, affected by the tragedy of 3/11/2011.
