This month marks 60 years of the Older Americans Act! This important piece of legislation affirmed our nation's promise to support older adults, helping them to age in place with dignity.

That promise is at the core of what we do at Hearth. We believe everyone deserves a safe and stable home. Through our housing, outreach, and prevention services, we work to provide the support and security that makes a healthy community possible for our elders.

Hearth recently partnered with the Forbes Building in Jamaica Plain to house 15 individuals from Boston who have been chronically homeless. For the first time in years, they will have a safe place to call their own. Hearth will provide ongoing stabilization services to help them succeed in their new home and community.

We are raising funds to provide essential furniture and home goods for each person. Your contribution to our Furnishings Fund helps create the stable, supportive environment they need to thrive. Every donation helps purchase necessities like a bed, a table, and other items that make an apartment a home.

You can contribute to the Furnishings Fund here: hearth-home.org/furnishings-fund/

This month, Hearth's President and CEO, Rhonda Pieroni, reflects on the relationships developed and the milestones reached the first half of 2025.

Events like "Rise Up: Bonding Over Lunch" and the first Community Day of 2025, sponsored by Point32Health, brought our clients, residents, and partners together in celebration of community. A three-year grant totaling $150,000 from Cummings Foundation will provide much needed support to our prevention efforts. Hearth partnered with Central Boston Elder Services to bring awareness to World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.
