🎖️ What a morning at Castle Island!
Elliott Physical Therapy is proud to have supported the Boston Marine Corps Honor Run 5K for the 8th consecutive year — and this one holds a very special place in our hearts.

For our co-owner Patti Elliott, this race is deeply personal. Both her father and grandfather proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, making every mile on the South Boston waterfront a tribute to their service and sacrifice.

This year’s race honored the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Marine Corps and raised funds for the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation and Fisher House Boston — two incredible organizations supporting military families.

Thank you to everyone who ran, walked, and cheered. Semper Fi. 🇺🇸

Today we celebrate the strength, compassion, resilience, and love that mothers bring to their families, workplaces, and communities every single day. From cheering on the sidelines to caring for others before themselves, moms are often the heartbeat behind it all.

At Elliott PT, we are especially grateful for the incredible mothers on our team and the many moms we have the privilege of caring for each day. Your dedication inspires us.

Wishing all the moms, grandmothers, stepmoms, mother figures, and caregivers a day filled with love, appreciation, and maybe even a little time to relax. 🌷

🐾 April 11th was National Pet Day and the Elliott PT Family celebrated their pets! 🐾

We may be experts in movement and recovery — but our real secret weapon? Our pets. 🐶🐱🐰

But pets aren’t just adorable — they’re actually good for you! 🙌 Research shows that owning a pet can:

❤️ Lower blood pressure and reduce stress

😊 Boost mood and ease symptoms of anxiety and depression

🦴 Encourage more physical activity (hello, daily walks!)

🤝 Reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation

Sounds like pets and physical therapy have a lot in common — both help you feel and move better! 😄

We’d love to see YOUR pets too! Drop a photo in the comments and tell us their name. 👇🐾

🌟 What a day at Healthy Kids Day! 🌟
We had the BEST time joining the Needham YMCA’s national celebration of kids’ and family health and wellness! For over 30 years, YMCAs across the country have been bringing communities together with free events like this one — inspiring kids and families to keep their minds and bodies active all summer long and beyond. 💛

We loved every moment — from seeing our tiniest fans in their Elliott jerseys 👕 to sharing some water with our favorite four-legged community members 🐾🐶

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table to say hello — your smiles made our day! Here’s to healthy, happy, active families all summer long! ☀️

💛 Elliott Physical Therapy — Moving with your community, every step of the way.

🎉 Huge congratulations to two of our incredible team members who crossed the Boston Marathon finish line yesterday! 🏅

Eric, our Clinical Manager in South Boston, brought the same dedication to 26.2 miles that he brings every day to helping runners of all levels reach their goals. And Stephanie, our Office Manager in Dorchester and avid runner, proved once again why she’s unstoppable both in and out of the office.

We are SO proud of you both. Here’s to sore legs and well-earned rest days! 💙💛💙💛

Respect the King, but don’t forget the Queen. 👑🏃

In the world of 26.2, the Long Run is King. It builds your engine, strengthens your endurance, and prepares your mind for the “pain cave.” But if you want to truly level up, Speed Work is Queen.

Why the royal pairing?
✨ The Long Run builds your base and teaches your body to burn fuel efficiently over hours.
✨ Speed Work improves your running economy, power, and that “kick” you’ll need on Boylston Street.
✨ The Foundation: Strength training is the “Guard” that protects them both, ensuring your joints and muscles can handle the high-mileage impact.

Don’t just log miles—train with intent. A plan that balances distance with Vitamin S (Speed!) and Vitamin R (Resistance) is the secret to a healthy finish. 🏆👟

If you’re looking for more guidance heading into this final stretch before Boston, feel free to give us a call and schedule a free 15 min consultation!

The first-ever Elliott PT Social Club event is in the books, and our race team absolutely crushed it at the St. Pat’s Day 5K! ☘️🏃

While the Social Club is all about connection, we couldn’t help but bring some serious heat to the pavement. We are so proud of how our clinics showed up and stood out in the standings:

🏆 Kevin Paulin (Clinical Manager, Hanover): 4th Place Overall
🏆 Eric Cardin (Clinical Manager, veteran marathoner & runner whisperer in Southie): 7th Place Overall!
🥇 Age Group Excellence: 3 of our team members took home 1st in their age groups, and another secured 3rd place in her age group.

Between the fast miles and the post-race celebration at it was the perfect kickoff for our new Social Club. 🍻✨

But these results aren’t just for show—they are a testament to the expertise we bring to our patients every day. When we say we understand the needs of runners, we mean it. Whether you are chasing a PR or navigating injury prevention for your next marathon, our team has the firsthand experience and clinical skill to get you to the finish line healthy and strong.

Don’t run on empty. 🍌⚡️

You wouldn’t drive to the cape with a "low fuel" light on, and you shouldn’t head to the starting line without a nutrition plan! Race day fueling is just as important as your weekly mileage—it’s the difference between hitting a PR and hitting the wall. 🧱

The Fueling Blueprint:

⛽️Practice Like You Race: Never try a new gel or drink on race day. Use your long training runs now to test what your stomach can handle.

⛽️Carbs are King: Your body needs accessible energy. Aim for 30–60g of carbohydrates per hour to keep your glycogen stores topped off.

⛽️Hydration is a Science: Don’t just drink when you’re thirsty. Consistent small sips of water and electrolytes help manage heart rate and blood pressure as the miles add up.

At Elliott PT, we know that exercise is medicine, but even the best medicine needs the right fuel to work!

DM us if you’re interested in scheduling an appt or consultation with our Southie team to help support you in your training.

Is your "Paddy’s Day" spirit stronger than your wrist? 🇮🇪🍺

We know the feeling! If carrying those festive pints has your hands or wrists feeling less than lucky, it might be time to see a specialist. We are proud to have Rebecca Wolongevicz, MS, OTR/L, CHT, on our team at Elliott Physical Therapy in Hanover.

As a Certified Hand Therapist and Occupational Therapist, Rebecca specializes in the complex mechanics from your fingertips to your shoulder. And let’s be honest—after the Blizzard of ’26 dumped 3+ feet of snow on the South Shore, most of our hands and shoulders are feeling the "shoveling struggle." ❄️🏠

Why see a CHT like Rebecca?

🟢 Specialized Expertise: Hand therapy is medicine for everything from ligament strains to post-op recovery.

🟢 Blizzard Recovery: If shoveling that mountain of snow left you with tingling, numbness, or shoulder pain, Rebecca can create a custom plan to get you back to 100%.

🟢 Functional Goals: We focus on getting you back to the activities you love (even if that’s just holding a coffee—or a pint! 😉).

Don't just push through the pain! Whether it was the snow or the celebration that got you, Rebecca is ready to help.
