Congratulations to Dr. Margo Nathan, MD (left) and Dr. Miryam Yusufov, PhD (right), for receiving the inaugural Connors-BRI Excellence Award in Women's Health and Gender Biology for their poster presentation at the annual Discover Brigham conference (Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston MA, Nov. 7, 2018). Their poster, "Psychological Profile Predicting Treatment Non-Adherence to Anti-Estrogen Therapy in Early-Stage Breast Cancer Patients", concluded that a combination of psychological symptoms, such as depression and anxiety, before beginning anti-estrogen therapies may predict risk for early treatment non-adherence to these therapies. These results will be used to guide the development of future interventions to help improve adherence among these patients. Learn more about our ongoing research here: www.brighamwharp.org
