We are the FNNDSC, or the Fetal-Neonatal Neuroimaging and Developmental Science Center, located at Boston Children's Hospital. Our multidisciplinary team is made up of researchers from the fields of medicine, engineering, computer science, and neuroscience. We aim to advance the fields of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Magnetoencephalography (MEG), and Near-infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS), while providing novel analytics and infrastructure in the Advanced Computing Group (ACG). The Center’s researchers work together to support and foster cutting edge clinical and translational science, and to work diligently in bringing those products to the research and clinical communities.

Please Welcome Research Fellow, Marina Solti!

Marina is a Research Fellow at the Fetal Neonatal Neuroimaging Developmental Science Center (FNNDSC) at Boston Children's Hospital, Harvard Medical School. She recently graduated as a Medical Doctor from the University of São Paulo Medical School and is highly interested in learning more about early life Neuroimaging and the neurodevelopmental impact of perinatal events and neonatal neurological disorders. She previously interned at FNNDSC as a student in 2020, and has developed a passion for researching Neuroimaging of the developing brain. She’ll be working on Neonatal brain imaging and Diffusion MRI projects.

Please welcome Graduate Student, Wievineke Apers!

Wievineke Apers is a Pediatric Resident from the Netherlands, doing a PhD on persistent ductus arteriosus in extremely premature infants. She is focusing on neurodevelopmental aspects, looking into long term outcomes and neuro-cardiovascular hemodynamics using non-invasive cardiac output monitoring and near infrared spectroscopy. Wievineke recently joined the FNNDSC and is working with the NIRS team for six months, assessing neuro-cardiovascular hemodynamic and cerebral oxygen metabolism in neonates undergoing procedural closure of a hemodynamically significant patent ductus arteriosus (PDA).
