The morning sessions cover the fundamentals of TCD and the applications/interpretation criteria of emboli monitoring, carotid revascularization, subclavian steal, extrinsic compression of vertebral arteries, bubble Study for PFO, vasospasm, vasomotor reserve assessment, sickle cell disease, raised intracranial pressure & circulatory arrest, and TCD with trauma patients.
The daily afternoon session options:
(1) The Physician Interpretation track will allow physicians to complete the full 100 TCD cases required for the American Society of Neuroimaging Neurosonology Exam to acquire the RPNI credential.
(2) The faculty-guided Hands-on Scanning sessions will provide learners with the opportunity to view and practice TCD and TCD Imaging techniques. This course is great preparation and fulfills some of the eligibility requirements for the American Society of Neuroimaging Neurovascular Specialist (NVS) Examination.
This course has been endorsed by the American Society of Neuroimaging, European Society of Neurosonology and Cerebral Hemodynamics - ESNCH, Neurohospitalist Society, Neurocritical Care Society, and Association of Neurovascular Clinicians- ANVC.
