A fearful state of mind is to a human like water is to a fish or air is to a bird. When you’re in it there’s nothing else and if somebody tries to show you another possibility you think they’re the crazy ones! 😂
We can rationalize anything. That’s been blatantly obvious by the reality television show called Politics the past few years.
The logic of fear and the logic of love, or faith, do not intersect. They aren’t just diametrically opposite of one another, they are literally in separate universes. No overlap. No resemblance. No agreements. Completely foreign. Completely alien.
So how can we reconcile a fearful thought? A great place to start is questioning. The reason we’re afraid is because we’ve believed in fear. In other words, we accepted a fearful idea as true. Well, is it? Without questioning it’s reality it will remain as our reality.
This is why science is so powerful, because it questions everything. The golden rule of science is “true until proven otherwise.” This attitude allows for constant growth and evolution. When a scientific fact is believed to be an absolute truth it becomes religious. We stop growing and we start fighting about who’s right and who’s wrong.
Our experience of life is kind of like a science experiment. Trial and error. Success and failure. Promising experiments gone wrong and miraculous “accidents” coming out of nowhere. But the moment we hold on to something too tightly the experiment ceases, life becomes a great resistance instead of an adventure, and everyone becomes an opponent instead of a teammate.
So, is that true? That thing you believe about yourself? Or about that person? Or about that thing? Have you put it up to questioning? There’s only one way to find out its validity. Test it! 😛
