Excited to announce two new music-based groups starting this February at Empower You Therapy Services! Whether you are looking for a supportive space for neurodivergent teens or seeking to align your voice with your identity, we have a space for you. 🎶

🌈 Gender Affirming Vocal Skills: The Singing Series
This six-week series is designed for trans and nonbinary individuals to explore and align their vocal expression with their gender identity.

Focus: Master techniques like pitch exploration, breath support, and resonance.

When: Wednesdays, Feb 4 – March 18, 2026, from 5:45 pm – 6:35 pm.

Cost: "Pay What You Can" ($20 suggested, but no one is turned away).

🎸 Teen Social Music Group
A welcoming, judgment-free space for neurodivergent teens (ages 13-18) to build genuine friendships through music.

Focus: Led by a Board-Certified Music Therapist, we use your favorite songs to spark conversation and self-discovery. No musical ability required!

When: Tuesdays, Feb 3 – March 31, 2026, from 5:30 pm – 6:20 pm (No session 3/17).

Details: 8-week closed group with various payment options available.

GOOD NEWS! 🎉 Our Gender-Affirming Voice Group is CONTINUING!

We had such an incredible time at the NoBo Library sessions that we've decided to keep the momentum going at our Empower You office!

Starting Wednesday, October 22nd, the group will be meeting weekly with a new Pay-As-You-Can model to keep it accessible to everyone.

What you need to know:

Who: Ages 18+ (All experience levels welcome—no singing talent needed!)

When: Wednesdays, 5:45 PM – 6:45 PM

Please join us in giving a warm welcome to our newest team member, Riley, a board-certified music therapist. 👋🎵 Check out her bio below to get to know her better!

Hi there! I’m Riley, a board-certified music therapist passionate about supporting empowerment, connection, and healing through music.

I bring a compassionate, energetic, and person-centered approach to every session. I believe each client is the expert in their own experience, and I’m committed to creating a therapeutic space where you can show up just as you are. I strive to listen deeply and openly, and I’m always learning and growing in my practice. My clinical work is grounded in neuroscience, person-centered therapy, and neurodiversity-affirming approaches.

I hold a Master of Music in Music Therapy from Colorado State University and a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Boston University. I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals of all ages in settings including acute care hospitals, mental health treatment centers, rehabilitation facilities, PreK–12 schools, assisted living communities, and private practice.

As a musician, I love performing with bands, choirs, musical theater productions, and contemporary a ca****la groups. When I’m not making music, you’ll often find me hiking, swimming, or cuddling with my 11-year-old terrier mix, Cindy.

I look forward to connecting with you and exploring how music therapy can support you or your loved one.

Urgent Call-to-Action

The U.S. Senate passed the reconciliation bill this morning with Vice President Vance casting the tie-breaking vote. It will now move back to the U.S. House of Representatives for approval.

Despite last minute changes to the Senate Bill, it still includes nearly $1 trillion in cuts to Medicaid. Please take this opportunity to contact your U.S. Representative and ask them to reject cuts to Medicaid by voting no on this bill. A House vote may occur within the next 24-36 hours, so please don't delay. Let your voice be heard.
