I’m so incredibly grateful to all those who showed up in support last night and to Caitlin Arce for doing most of the hard work to plan, coordinate, and pull off this celebratory event. I feel so lucky to have an intuitive and supportive partner in this new business venture and a new friend in my growing community.

We are so excited to be expanding our capacity to support you in your journey!

Look, the stressors of pregnancy and birth are laid heavily on us, and sometimes that can cause a painful rift in our primary relationship.

Our partners want to help but they just don't know how!

When I support a family during this transition into parenthood, my work is to inspire and empower you from pregnancy to parenting with both parents in mind.

Trust babies to come into their breath in their own time!

This photo is my reaction to the midwife vigorously rubbing and agitating Amelia immediately after birth. You may not be able to tell much from this photo but this is the face of a mother fiercely protecting her baby. This midwife does not trust babies to breathe. She vigorously rubs babies and thumps their feet to elicit a cry immediately after birth. She doesn’t trust babies to come into their breath in their own time. She doesn’t trust mothers to know their babies. She doesn’t trust placentas to do the work of oxygenating baby for as long as they need.

Babies need so little help from us to come into this world. They come in with a blueprint for birth. Navigating the pelvis, following the map of their ancestors. How ridiculous that we feel after all they have journeyed through that we need to lead them, or even rescue them. Babies know when it’s safe to breathe. Placentas know when it’s time to release.

Babies deserve a gentle transition to this world.

**the midwife who attended Amelia’s birth was not the midwife that I had chosen to work with. She was the midwife available when my midwife had an unexpected family event come up.

What are the benefits of Prenatal Massages?
There are so many amazing benefits to Prenatal Massage.
You have the obvious relief from the common discomforts of pregnancy, like low back pain, sciatica, swelling, and achy legs and feet, but you also have an increased awareness of your body and improved breathing patterns, which can help to prepare you for labor!
It's also really good for your baby!
For example, prenatal massage increases your blood flow, sending more blood and oxygen to your baby. It helps to create space for baby to find the absolutely best position for birth. And, it stimulates the production of hormones that are really important for pregnancy and bonding, like oxytocin, serotonin, dopamine and many, many others. Many other modalities used to address pain during pregnancy can't say the same.

One thing about me is that I’ve been deep into the world pregnancy, birth, and postpartum for over 20 years.

Now, to be perfectly clear, it started off as a personal interest. I got pregnant pretty young and was terrified of “doing it wrong”. So, I dove in head first. I read. I meditated. I practiced yoga. I examined the way I was parented and learned new ways based on my own value systems.

I did all that and I still had a traumatic first birth experience.

But, you know what? That is what put me on this path. It’s what informed me of my gifts and passions.
