Aphanizomenon Flos-Aquae (AFA) is a species of blue-green algae (BGA) that’s wild harvested from the pristine waters of Upper Klamath Lake in Oregon. Klamath’s BestTM AFA is not only wild harvest, it is also certified organic and third party tested, putting it well above what you find from any other BGA product on the market. The deep blue-green coloration and potent algal flavor speak for themselves! For a limited time you can purchase these AFA products for 20% off!

AFA is Nature’s Perfect Food. It provides nutrients born from billions of years of evolution and survival in nature. Saluz.io ® AFA from Klamath Lakes is a balanced source of amino acids, enzymes, vitamins, and minerals that contain the perfect profile of micronutrients your cells need to function in a healthy, intelligent way. BGA are often referred to as a superfood for this reason. These blue-green colored pigments are powerhouses packed full of chlorophyll, phycocyanin, glutathione, and SOD, all very powerful, life-preserving antioxidants in their own right. When packaged together, they form an almost invincible array of infection-preventing and inflammation-fighting power. Saluz® AFA from Klamath is packed with 20 amino acids, a complete complex of B vitamins, and all the minerals your body needs in a potent bioavailable form.

Studies have indicated that BGA has outstanding properties that make it effective as an antiviral, antitumor, antiallergic, antidiabetic, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory agent, as well as demonstrating impressive lipid-lowering outcomes. Further, AFA supports increased energy, improved mood, weight loss, immune system health, detoxification, cognitive function, and efficient elimination of accumulated dietary and environmental toxins from the body, and more. Finally, BGA supplements provide plentiful heart-friendly polyunsaturated fatty acids that can help prevent heart diseases, improve blood sugar regulation, and avoid some types of cancer.

You can add it to your smoothies, mix it with your morning lemon water, or add it to salads for its nutritious “blue-green” flavor… It goes well with almost everything. If powders are not part of your lifestyle, then Saluz® offers convenient capsules for you to take with you.

When you take Saluz® AFA Blue-Green Algae on a daily basis you will FEEL the difference.

Call us or stop in to pick up your Saluz® AFA! Sale lasts until we post the next sale item.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! This year we would like to bring awareness and honor all of the women under 50 yo with breast cancer. Unfortunately, for a multitude of reasons, this is a growing population. While some doctors are taking this seriously, younger women, especially women of color and those in the LGBTQAI+ community, often struggle to be properly worked up and diagnosed as their symptoms are frequently dismissed as something else. Without the intention to cause alarm, we encourage women to advocate for themselves and push for appropriate care if they begin to experience:
🌿New and sharp breast pain or tenderness
🌿Feeling of a lump or unusual shape in their breast tissue
🌿Unusual ni**le discharge or ni**le retraction
🌿Any changes to the skin of the breast, especially thickening or changes in color
🌿Swelling in the breast, even if there is no lump

When diagnosed early, breast cancer is very treatable, so make sure to be aware of these symptoms and seek care should they arise.

Similar to the mistletoe we think of when kissing underneath at Christmas, European mistletoe (Viscum album) is a semi-parasitic plant that grows on various host trees. It has been used as a herbal therapy since Hippocrates’ and Paracelsus’ times and more recently as a successful remedy for advanced cancers since 1917. The use of mistletoe therapy for cancer found its origins in Anthroposophic Medicine, founded by Dr. Ita Wegman and inspired by the teachings of Rudolph Steiner, who also created Waldorf schools and Biodynamic agriculture. This therapy is widely used and integrated into conventional care throughout central Europe, especially in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month! While prostate cancer mortality rates are low, current data shows that 1 in 8 men in the US will be diagnosed with prostate cancer, usually at an older age. While not particularly deadly, prostate cancer can still cause stress and significantly reduce quality of life both due to the disease process and its treatment.

Here are our top tips for prostate cancer prevention:
🌿Eat a well-rounded mostly plant-based diet, ensuring you avoid your particular food intolerance(s)
🌿Get regular daily movement including a mix of strength training, cardio, and stretching
🌿Stop smoking and avoid alcohol consumption
🌿Ensure adequate daily Vitamin D through sun exposure, diet, and/or supplementation
🌿Manage your stress
🌿Stay sexually active
🌿Support you mental and emotional health

Come visit us if you would like support in implementing these preventative strategies into your life!

This month we honor Thyroid Cancer Awareness Month. While thyroid cancer is somewhat rare, rates are increasing. Understanding risk factors and symptoms are important to support prevention and early detection.

Risk factors:
🌿Estrogen dominance (ie. being female)
🌿Exposure to excessive of radiation
🌿Hereditary conditions
🌿Iodine deficiency or excess
🌿Being overweight or obese

Signs and Symptoms:

Most thyroid cancers don't cause any signs or symptoms early in the disease. As thyroid cancer grows, it may cause:

🌿A lump (nodule) that can be felt through the skin on your neck, near the adam’s apple, sometimes growing quickly
🌿Swelling in the neck, especially of lymph nodes
🌿A feeling that close-fitting shirt collars are becoming too tight
🌿Changes to your voice that do not go away, including increasing hoarseness
🌿Difficulty swallowing or breathing
🌿Pain in your neck and throat
🌿A constant cough that is not due to a cold

If you have a history of any of the risk factors, or are experiencing some of these signs and symptoms, it may be worth visiting your doctor to rule out thyroid cancer and pursue appropriate treatment.

September is Leukemia & Lymphoma Awareness Month!

Leukemia is an umbrella term for cancers of blood cells that develop in the bone marrow. There are four major types of leukemia: acute myeloid leukemia (AML), chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), and chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). AML and CLL are the most common types in adults, and ALL is the most common type in children.

Lymphoma refers to cancers of immune cells of the lymph system and can occur anywhere in the body. There are two basic categories of lymphomas: Hodgkin lymphoma and non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL).

There are many naturally derived therapies that can help someone heal from these types of cancers, mitigate side effects, and work synergistically with conventional therapies, all to prevent recurrence. Come visit Matrix Wellness to explore an individualized treatment plan that addresses your needs!

In honor of Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month we want to highlight an amazing natural compound impactful in the prevention and treatment of ovarian cancer: Quercetin. Quercetin is an antioxidant phytonutrient present in kale, broccoli, peppers, onions, cherry tomatoes, blueberries, apples, grapes, nuts, tea, and much more. With respect to ovarian cancer it has been shown to be toxic to cancer cells, decrease tumor blood vessel formation thereby stunting tumor growth, balance the inflammatory environment in which cancer cells thrive, and reduce metastasis by modulating multiple signaling molecules involved in cell survival, proliferation, migration and adhesion. As such, quercetin is such an amazing nutrient to include in a well-rounded treatment plan for ovarian cancer!

Contact us to see if quercetin is appropriate for you or a loved one.
