I am reading a ground breaking, mind blowing book - "Brain Energy A Revolutionary Breakthrough in Understanding Mental Health - and Improving Treatment for Anxiety, Depression, OCD, TSD, and more" by Christopher Palmer, MD, associate professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. The basic premise is that most psychiatric and medical diagnoses share a common root cause - dysfunctional (either over or under working) mitochondria. New research is showing us that mitochondria do so much more than produce our energy in the form of ATP. Chinese medicine sages knew this many millennia ago: In the 8 principle diagnoses framework we are looking for either excess or deficient energy patterns. Once again, western and eastern science merge and agree on finding the root cause of dis-ease. I highly recommend this book!
