We are more than excited to welcome Richard Freeman & Mary Taylor back to the Hanuman Festival in 2023!

Join them Saturday, July 15th for “Staying Awake and Joyful in Times of Transition”!

Richard Freeman has been a student of yoga since 1968. He spent nine years in Asia studying yoga āsana, prāṇāyāma, Sufism, Sanskrit language, and Indian philosophy. He has studied asana with B.K.S. Iyengar and K. Pattabhi Jois and has worked with numerous Buddhist teachers to draw insights into the interfacing of Buddhism and yoga as a reflection of life. Richard’s metaphorical, humorous, teaching style appeals to students of many backgrounds and nationalities.

Mary Taylor began studying yoga in 1971 and her studies have grown into a deep interest into how yoga āsana, meditation and the interfacing of yoga with Buddhism combine to support us through complex times. Her main āsana practice is in the internal forms of the aṣṭāñga vinyāsa tradition. She is part of the core faculty of the Being with Dying program at Upaya Zen Center and the UZIT training program, both of which apply contemplative practices to improved and sustainable wellness within medical settings.

Together they teach workshops and trainings online and throughout the world. Richard’s instructional videos and CD’s on yoga set the gold standard for approaching yoga as a contemplative art. They’ve authored and co-authored numerous books, most recently, When Love Comes to Light, Ancient Wisdom from the Bhagavad Gīta for Modern Life, (Shambhala Publications, 2021).

🌿Presenter Announcements🌿

Nick Didomenico & Marissa Pulaski of .farm !

Hailing from the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, Nick is a regenerative designer, farmer, and builder. Inspired by indigenous culture and ancient farming practices, he works passionately to design the future of living systems. In 2015, Nick began farming on a barren and desertified 14 acre parcel of land in rural north Boulder County. Despite discouragement from government agencies and conventional farmers, Nick began exploring regenerative solutions for the arid west to restore what is now Elk Run Farm.

Now the pilot research project for Drylands Agroecology Research (DAR), the nonprofit that he and his partner Marissa Pulaski founded in 2017, thousands of fruit trees have been planted in restored ecosystems where others thought it was impossible. Today, Nick is working to develop climate change solutions through regenerative farming, working with private and public landowners across Boulder County.

As a graduate of Environmental Studies and the Psychology of Health and Healing at Naropa University, Marissa is passionate about igniting the innate human-earth connection within herself and others. She runs Folk Farm at Elk Run, encouraging play and the importance of intuition. A trained Doula, skilled herbalist, and cultural advocate, Marissa continues to evolve through practicing ritual, embodiment, and communication with the unseen.
