I’ve been practicing qigong for over 13 years, and as a physical therapist, I’ve found it to be the best movement discipline for both rehabilitating injuries and preventing future ones.
And I can tell you firsthand how it has transformed my life.
I used to deal with chronic neck pain from neck and spinal injuries I suffered while playing sports in my teens and 20s. I’d wake up with stiffness and aches from being active, not sleeping enough, and everyday stress.
Once I began practicing qigong consistently, the pain and stiffness disappeared within 6-12 months—and they haven’t returned since.
For over a decade, I’ve lived an active, pain-free life, and qigong is one of the key reasons why.
Qigong is a fundamental pillar of the natural, holistic health framework I personally embrace and incorporate clinically with many of my clients. Its practice includes gentle movements, deep breathing, meditation, and visualization techniques.
By linking movement to breath and staying relaxed, fluid, and focused while exerting, qigong helps develop power, strength, flexibility, mobility, balance, and agility. This makes it ideal for supporting injury recovery and enhancing long-term physical health.
You’ll still find traditional strengthening exercises in my customized routines, but expect to discover some therapeutic movements inspired by qigong as well.
