We're announcing another important program to attend, so mark your calendar for November 3rd!

Our speaker, Steven J. Sless, CLTC, is well versed in the mortgage industry and has 20 years of experience with 13 years of reverse mortgage knowledge. He will share how reverse mortgages can help your 60+ clients stay in their home or purchase a new home without the qualifying income traditional mortgages require. Steve will review:
- Who's the ideal client for a reverse mortgage?
- How are reverse mortgages different from conventional loans?
- How safe are reverse mortgages?
- How are beneficiaries and heirs protected?

We look forward to seeing you on November 3rd!

Please join us for our first program launching our new 2021-2020 year. This is also the time to sign up for your new membership which you can do so by visiting http://www.thebidc.org.

September's program promises to be an important and enlightening one and the speaker is Gretchen Fair, LCSW from the Blue Sky Bridge in Boulder. She will be discussing topics about child sexual abuse.

This program is a great opportunity for CFI’s and PRE’s to get started on meeting the training requirements necessary under the new legislation taking effect January 1, 2022 (HB21-1228).

Once we receive your reservation then the Zoom instructions will be emailed to you a few days before the presentation.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Dear BIDC Community,

We are arriving at the beginning of our 2021-2022 BIDC season and invite you to renew your membership. Please visit http://www.thebidc.org to sign up.

The Board has prepared an exciting schedule of programs for this season. Our first program will be September 1 at 12PM via Zoom. Our speaker will be Gretchen Fair, an Education Associate with Blue Sky Bridge. Gretchen will present on recognizing and understanding child sexual abuse, handling disclosures, and the basics of mandated reporting. This is a unique opportunity to gain a better understanding of these complex situations. There will be an opportunity for questions and answers.

For future presentations, we are monitoring current COVID-19 risks on a monthly basis to decide if we can add in-person attendance to our programs. Programs will continue to be offered via Zoom. We will announce whether a program may be attended in-person on the monthly program announcement.

I encourage you to renew your membership today. Not only does your membership allow BIDC to continue to provide excellent programming for the community, but here are the benefits membership provides to you:
- Access to attend continuing education programs and receive the appropriate credits for CLE and CE
- Listing in the BIDC online directory (only current members will be listed starting August 31, 2021),
- Access to recordings of 2021-2022 presentations if you miss a presentation live,
- Access to the BIDC’s video programs and materials library (including access to 5 hours of programs from 2020-2021),
- Access to an incredible network of experienced professionals and more…

Here are some of the programs that are in the works for the 2021-2022 season:
- Understanding Child Sexual Abuse and Mandated Reporting
- Child Support Update 2021
- Reverse Mortgages-Solutions to Solve Common Late-Life Divorce
- Annual Family Law Appellate Case Update
- Digital Media Issues Affecting Children
More to come. Check http://www.thebidc.org for updates on specific programs and their scheduling.

We appreciate your continued support to our professional community and look forward to another great year.

Sincerely,

Will Ellison
President, BIDC

Dear BIDC Community,

Fall is almost here again and that means it is time for a new BIDC season. Thats right, in this ever changing world we currently find ourselves, for BIDC, the show will go on. Over the summer, the board has been hard at work planning an incredible season filled with the high quality programs you have come to expect from BIDC. Membership and programs for the 2020-2021 season are now available on our website, www.thebidc.org.

I encourage you to renew your membership today. Not only does your membership allow BIDC to continue providing excellent programming for the community, but it also benefits you. BIDC membership includes monthly continuing education programs (and the credits they provide), discounted pricing for workshops, listing in the BIDC directory (only members will be listed starting September 1, 2020), access to an incredible network of experienced professionals and more.

We will be kicking the 2020-2021 season off with the annual View from the Bench program on September 9, 2020. The complete list of programs for the season can be found at www.thebidc.org.

Please note that due to the COVID-19 infection risks of in person meetings as well as the state and local orders regarding the same, the board has decided to hold all of the fall programs virtually via zoom. The board will be monitoring this situation closely and, if appropriate, may have mixed (virtual and in person sessions) in the spring. However, this is not guaranteed. In the mean time, the board is planning some virtual networking opportunities in order for us all to stay connected. Stay tuned on this.

I look forward to seeing you all in the fall.

Sincerely yours,
Johanna Blumenthal
President, BIDC
