Education is an important requirement for building a socially, economically, and ecologically sustainable future. But the financial means for this are not always available. Unfortunately that is also the case in Gando, a small village in Burkina Faso, West Africa. That is why the architect Diébédo Francis Kéré, who comes from Gando himself, set up the organization Kéré Foundation e.V. in 1998, which helps enable, for example, the construction of schools, sanitary facilities, and other infrastructure in Gando. For many years, the Hevert-Foundation has been an important supporter and is currently providing a large donation to assist with the completion of a secondary school, the production of school furniture, and is helping to plant many shade-providing mango trees in Gando.

Especially in turbulent times such as during the current coronavirus pandemic, many people are sleeping badly. Taking a melatonin preparation can support the natural sleep-wake cycle and thereby shorten the time it takes to fall asleep. On November 6, the Dr. Wolfgang Hevert Prize was awarded for the seventh time under the motto "New paths in naturopathy". The psychologist Nina Bauer, doctoral candidate at the Clinic for Integrative Medicine and Naturopathy of the University of Bamberg, was awarded the prize, which is endowed with 10,000 euros. With her planned study project, she wants to prove that patients with Crohn's disease can be empowered to promote their recovery through a stress and lifestyle therapy and to achieve a high quality of life despite their illness. Mathias Hevert, managing director of Hevert-Arzneimittel and deputy chair of the board of the Hevert-Foundation, emphasized the importance of the planned study project for naturopathy during the award ceremony. Hevert-Arzneimittel is once again focusing on sustainability and, since the second quarter of 2020, has been using only magnesium stearate that has been proven not to be produced from palm oil in its own production at its Nussbaum site. A Swiss research group tested the effect of homeopathic remedies versus with the help of a scientific study on duckweed. The small, green aquatic plants were first poisoned with arsenic. The researchers then divided the weakened water lentils into two experimental groups: One group was treated with homeopathically potentiated (diluted!) arsenic, the other group with water only.
The evaluation of the study clearly showed that duckweed treated with homeopathy recovered measurably better than duckweed treated with only water.

Ensuring the quality of our raw materials, broadening our expertise in naturopathy, and environmental protection are the three main reasons why Hevert cultivates its own medicinal herbs. In 2014, the first field of medicinal herbs at our company headquarters in Nussbaum was planted with European goldenrod. In 2018, an additional field and a greenhouse with numerous medicinal herbs were added.
