Intimacy is Vulnerability
It’s no wonder that humanity is more connected than ever—and lonelier than ever.
We use our connections to build ourselves up, when what we long for is a safe place to fall apart.
We have all the tools to make ourselves appear healthier, happier, more beautiful, more successful, and more creative than we really are.
This is fear. It’s a shield against judgment, which we are more sensitive to than ever. We dreamt of a world where we could appear perfect and now perfect appearances are destroying us from inside.
We’ve lost the moon.
The moon in hermeticism is the private world, the balance to the sunlit, public world of appearances. It’s messy and confusing and frustrating—but it’s also real.
It’s who we really are.
Not the happy, 2-dimensional person we claim to be, the sad, frustrated, cynical mess underneath.
We don’t want to be loved for our image, because it’s designed to be lovable.
We want to be loved for messy, hurting, uncontrollable chaos we really are.
But we’re too afraid to show anyone that.
We’re even too afraid to admit it to ourselves.
And so no one really loves us, because no one really knows us.
And we suffer.
But this is a prison with no locks.
You don’t have to maintain appearances. You can let them fall apart.
Yes, you will lose people.
But the people who stay will be real. And they’ll know who you really are because you gave them a chance.
And finally, you’ll be free from loneliness.
But this starts with you.
No one can meet you at a deeper level than you’ve met yourself.
When you can make peace with all of your emotions and all of your memories, when you can treat every misfortune as a wise teacher, and when you can integrate the missing half of yourself you’ve been hiding from, a miracle happens:
You love yourself. Truly. Like you’ve never loved anyone in your life.
It’s not easy. I know from my own experience and from years of helping clients.
But if you’re ready to get started, I want you to message me the word “alchemy.”
Because the tools that teach you how to love yourself are the ones you need to love and be loved by others.
