Cultivate Balance

Cultivate Balance We build individual and collective resilience through Ayurvedic Lifestyle Design as an emergent stra FEEL GOOD. DO GOOD. THE REVOLUTION BEGINS WITH YOU.

Self care is a radical act — when you are vibrant and awake, you have the clarity and energy to show up for what you believe in. Come home to your body, by going deep within yourself to initiate true transformation. This is the epitome of a local revolution. Remembrance of your connection to the rhythms and elements of nature is the wild reclamation of your ability to heal yourself and transform the world around you. When you cultivate balance within your own body and mind, you are able to bring more harmony to your family, community and the planet. YOUR WELLNESS IS THE NEW PARADIGM SHIFT. Radical self care is an alternative to engaging with failing systems, corporate interests and the notion that we are incomplete or unworthy. Knowing your true self, reconnecting with the parts of yourself that you love most, and designing your life to support your deepest wellness, are all acts of resistance. Not only is self care a form of rebellion, it also invites us to find greater clarity of mind, more time to organize, and energy to activate change. RADICAL SELF CARE FOR PEOPLE WHO GIVE A DAMN. Our approach to wellness invites a deep understanding and appreciation for your individuality, offering self care practices that inspire you to celebrate your strengths and overcome your challenges...so you can show up to do your life’s work. The focus is on nutrition, lifestyle routines and self care practices that support you in honoring the most balanced expression of your authentic nature. It is by reclaiming internal balance that your body can heal itself and lasting wellness becomes available. Rooted in Ayurveda, our wellness systems weave ancient wisdom for holistic healing into the modern context. We seek to ensure this powerful knowledge is accessible to all who desire to embark on a journey of renewal. COLLECTIVE WELLNESS IS THE SOLUTION. Collective wellness is the ultimate expression of all wellness. It is the greater vision of what we are working toward in the small moments when we care for ourselves. Collective wellness occurs when we work to meet the needs of a group or community. It is about looking beyond our individual experience to honor a collective vision that prioritizes the needs of many. Valuing collective wellness invites us to think critically about our communities and our roles within them in order to make real contributions. Taking care of ourselves is the first step that enables us to collaborate, connect and show up for what we believe in. The purpose of individual wellness (self care), is truly to be able to take care of others. Collective wellness is the key to creating the world we want to live in. And, you can even think of Ayurveda as the art of living in relation(ship) to the world around us.

After more than a year of laying a new foundation, I am relieved to report that I feel at home in this new iteration of myself, my work and in the community that is taking shape around me.

Here ^^ are some belated solstice pictures from my favorite sauna in the woods.

And HERE are some things I’m looking forward to in the year to come:

✨Continuing to explore my region—more hikes, road trips, dreamy nature-infused saunas and maybe a backpacking excursion?

✨Joining the doula collective to continue my work as Ayurvedic Postpartum Doula.

✨Working closely with new and returning Ayurveda clients who want to come home to their bodies, understand their doshas, and deepen daily/weekly/monthly rituals.

✨Guiding The Reset for Resilience in April and October. This one of my favorite things that I get to do throughout the year. I cherish the community experience of holding space for this nourishing group cleanse and the individual transformation that becomes possible when the mind and body get a chance to truly restore.

✨Exploring the possibility of teaching more workshops. I think the next one will be on Ayurvedic Cycle Syncing—could be virtual or in person. Would you be interested in this? Let me know!

✨Imagining my next trip to India. I’m honestly always trying to get back to India, but it’s been two years and I feel like I’m due for my next panchakarma.

✨Deepening local connections and friendships. If you’re a reading this, I love you!!

✨Finding the right daily/weekly rhythms for prioritizing self oil massage, strength training, and reading for fun. Send me your favorite book recommendations!

I shared these goals and more reflections on Substack, which is the version of social media that I find to be most life giving these days.

Ayurveda reminds us that when life gets complicated, it’s time to eat simple food.

And by complicated, I mean those moments saturated with…stress, overwhelm, overstimulation, exhaustion, illness, travel, or recovery of any kind (surgery, postpartum, etc.).

More and more, it seems we’re all navigating some version of complication or intensity in our lives—and our bodies feel it. Which is why regularly incorporating simple, nourishing meals is not just comforting, but essential. Food that is easy to prepare and digest, yet still flavorful and nutrient-rich, can be a lifeline during busy or tender times.

The challenge, of course, is that when life feels complicated, it can be especially hard to know what to cook or even how to begin. That’s why I often encourage my clients to lean on one go-to recipe: something easy to make, easy to adapt, and that features a few Ayurvedic pantry staples. A recipe that slips seamlessly into your rhythms—or helps you create new ones. A meal that anchors you and reminds you of how you care for yourself.

At best, detox culture is an oversimplification of practices, rituals, and remedies that truly do encourage the body to release and reset. At worst, it’s dangerous and harmful to our health.

Even if a person experiences temporary relief, detox culture is not the long-term solution. It does not build longevity, healthy digestion, robust immunity, or lasting routines.

These approaches emphasize appearance over embodiment, often taking us farther from ourselves and what our bodies know to be true.

Just a happy girl with a bag of einkorn flour 🌾

Thank you for hosting such a great workshop. I am endlessly inspired by your commitment to milling regional grains that are flavorful and nutrient dense, teaching people how to work with them, and fostering a robust local grain economy by working directly with farmers.

The sourdough community is a microcosm of the world I want to live in.
