Davis County Midwives

Davis County Midwives Bonnie is a mother to three red headed boys, wife to a red bearded man, avid recipe maker, yogi, bookworm, and wanna-be world traveler.

She has supported hundreds of birthing people in many birth situations such as home births, special needs, c-section, and unmedicated births. She has been serving the birth community since 2014.

Bonnie is currently focusing her training to specialize in safe vaginal breech birth. She is committed to creating and maintaining a positive birth experience for a birthing person and their birth team.

When Bonnie is not focusing on her clients or promoting safe and healthy pregnancies for all birthing people in her community, she usually can be found in in her garden, on her yoga mat, running, or day dreaming of traveling the world with her family. Bonnie wishes she had more time to read and sleep, but such is the life of a midwife/mother and she wouldn't have it any other way! Karina is a mother of three, home DIYer and computer nerd.

Karina became passionate about improving birth experiences doing her own research and having a wonderful unmedicated first delivery, despite being categorized as high-risk due to having Type 1 Diabetes. Karina's goal as a midwife is simply to improve birth experiences – by helping to reduce physical and emotional trauma, by empowering through knowledge, and providing a safer birth experience led by your own body. Karina also has personal and professional experience with VBACs and diabetes during pregnancy and can skillfully educate on things that others may not have reason to know.

In her spare time she enjoys learning, camping and traveling with her three children and husband of twelve years.

Another day, another seamless home birth. 💕
This is what physiologic birth is designed to look like: calm, supported, closely monitored, and deeply respected. Mom labored beautifully at home surrounded by her birth team (her young children), and baby arrived safely into loving hands.
Home birth is not “no medical care.” It is skilled, evidence-based care for carefully screened low-risk families. Research continues to show that planned home birth with qualified providers has excellent outcomes for low-risk pregnancies, including:
• Lower rates of cesarean birth
• Lower rates of interventions
• High maternal satisfaction
• Lower NICU admissions
Safety in birth comes from education, preparation, skilled assessment, informed consent, teamwork, and knowing when to intervene or transfer if needed.
We are always honored to witness families welcome their babies in the place they feel safest: home.

Monday Bonnie, along with other community midwives, presented Layton Hospital with the UWNQC and Team Player award. This is for their efforts in providing seamless and respectful care when the need occurs for transfers. Layton hospital continually stands out as a hospital committed to supporting the community birth setting and we are so grateful for the team on L&D.

Too many women still die from preventable causes during pregnancy and childbirth. Skilled care before, during, and after birth can save lives — and midwives are best placed to provide it.

Achieving universal coverage of midwife-delivered interventions by 2035 could avert 67% of these deaths. But, the world is short one million midwives.

We need urgent action to grow, support, and sustain the global midwifery workforce. This , sign the global petition calling on policymakers for

✨Everything hallelujah ✨

There's so much love that goes into our midwifery care. People walk in as strangers and leave as family. We couldn't be more grateful for it.

Spring is here and we can't wait for the spring babies to make their appearance. Patience is a virtue, especially for midwives. You can't rush perfection and we want all of these sweet babies to be perfect.
So if you're waiting on a baby, go for a walk, get a pedicure, take a nap, and wait for your baby to choose their birthday.
