Summer is here, which is a good reminder to think about swim safety! Teaching your child how to swim helps build confidence in the water and can significantly reduce the risk of drowning. But how do you know when to start & what to look for in a swim program? Head to our link in bio for swim lesson FAQs!

💧 According to the AAP recommendations, many children can start swim lessons as early as age 1, depending on their developmental readiness and comfort level in the water.

💧 By age 4, most children are ready for swim lessons if they haven't started yet. If you have questions about whether your child is ready for swim lessons, talk with your pediatrician.

⚠️❗️ Remember, swim lessons don’t replace supervision - even with lessons, CLOSE supervision is always essential!

Hi, it’s Cassi, registered nurse and Child Passenger Safety Technician, with an important car seat safety reminder about non-approved accessories!

Aftermarket items are any products that did NOT come with your car seat or were NOT made by your car seat's manufacturer for your specific model. While these car seat accessories may look helpful, cozy, or convenient, they are aftermarket (non-approved) and shouldn’t be used. Many are often sold online or in stores and labeled as “safe” or “crash tested,” but don't be misled - they are not safe to use. Swipe to learn more!

✅ The safest car seat setup is the simplest one, exactly as the manufacturer designed and tested it.

✅ When in doubt, check your car seat manual or reach out to a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician.

Let’s keep our kids safe every ride, every time!

🌎 Happy Earth Day! Earth Day is a great chance to help your kids understand how to care for the world around them. Here are some tips for younger kids:

For preschool age (2–5):
💧 Talk about why we take care of our planet
🌱 Show how we use water, soil, and other resources every day
♻️ Practice simple habits like turning off lights, saving water, and reusing materials

For early elementary age (6–8):
🌿 Start bigger conversations about helping your community
💡 Brainstorm together ways to reduce impact—grow a garden, use reusable bottles, or conserve energy at home

These small, age-appropriate conversations and habits build a lifelong respect for the environment and help kids feel like they’re part of something bigger. 🌍✨

Planning on spring cleaning? Involve your kids! 🧼🧹. Here are some ways spring cleaning can improve your child's development:

🌸 Practice gross motor skills by sweeping, dusting, and picking up toys
🌸 Practice fine motor skills by folding clothes & sorting small items (no choking hazards)
🌸 Learn responsibility by letting them pick their tasks & setting a completion time
🌸 Practice giving back by donating outgrown clothes & unused toys
🌸 Feel appreciated by congratulating your child on a job well done & thanking them for their help

Remember, never have your child handle any chemicals, excessive amounts of dust, or anything too heavy & out of reach!
