Humbled by this recent review:

I am writing this review as a family member of a patient that is still at the [Western Peaks Specialty Hospital] facility who is heading into the end of their stay there. If I could give this facility 100 stars I would! Very stellar care for my husband who came in with complex wounds and severe muscle atrophy - my husband is standing and getting ready to start the process of walking again after being in hospital for a year! First, I have to thank them for letting me stay with my husband 24/7 for 109 days! Being from out of state it was very hard on us financially and if they had not done that, I wouldn't have been able to stay with him for that long. I truly felt as a family member that they made me feel like a part of their family. I was truly sad to leave not only my husband but the staff who I had gotten to know.
There are so many that deserve mentions, I won't be able to name everyone but just know that I (as well as my husband) truly value each one of you! [We could not have done it without] the Social Worker, Nurse Practitioner, Wound Care Nurse, Physical Therapy Team, Nurses, CNAs, Respiratory Team, Caseworkers, Doctors, Housekeeping, and Administration.
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you have done for my husband and what you continue to do for him. He calls me every day telling me the progress he is making on his own. We cry over the phone, and I hate that I am not there; but, to know how much support he has from you folks makes me feel better knowing he is in such great hands. I truly appreciate the care and concern you have and continue to give my husband!
Thank you for taking such wonderful care of my husband and for helping him get one step closer to coming home to me and his family!

What Is An LTAC Hospital?
Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) hospitals specialize in providing complex care for an extended period (26-day average). LTAC units provide patients with the same high level of care received in an acute care hospital. Patients benefit from a team of experienced critical care physicians, pulmonologists, nurse practitioners, 24/7 critical care trained registered nurses and respiratory therapists, a certified wound team, and complete in-house therapy team.

Our Western Peaks Specialty Hospital is a unique post-acute care LTAC facility with the ability to treat patients from infancy through adulthood. Our facility features one of the largest and most experienced Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) and Skilled Nursing Respiratory Teams in Utah. Our specialty care campus serves more ventilator and tracheostomy-dependent patients than any other sub-acute facility in the multi-state area.
Through the services offered by the advanced respiratory team and highly skilled nursing staff, we wean hundreds of individuals from ventilator dependency each year. Our program is proud of our vent weaning success, which ranks well above the national average.

It's Our Anniversary ~ 32 years ago, on this date, June 25, 1993, opened its 3-story tower portion that was built onto the original 1960s Hospital.
