I wasn’t able to join the group hiking today for Post Partum depression awareness, so I took my family on our own hike. Which was very healthy and healing for me since I struggled with PPD after 3 of my 6 births. To be in a healthier mindset and trying to move my aging body is a great place to be!! The tongue plays a key role in guiding proper facial growth and development.
When it rests on the roof of the mouth and moves well, it helps form wide dental arches, supports airway health, and promotes balanced facial structure. 🦷👃

But when tongue function is limited — whether due to a restricted range of motion (like in a tongue tie), low muscle tone, etc — it can impact:
🔹 Jaw and facial development
🔹 Tooth alignment
🔹 Breathing and sleep
🔹 Long-term oral function

You should never feel ashamed or judged by a lactation specialist. (and if you do, find a new one)

Because truth is… most of us are in this work because we face challenges ourselves.

You can get through any challenge with support, especially from people who have been in your shoes and know what it’s like.👩🏼‍⚕️

We are IBCLCs but we are also moms just like you. 💕

Oral ties come in all shapes and sizes and if they are effecting feedings we will do everything we can to help! 💗

It’s BREAST-feeding, not NIPPLE-feeding.

If your breast and baby look similar to the bottom photo when nursing, very likely you are also experiencing…
🔺pain/discomfort
🔺inefficient milk removal
🔺baby with gas/reflux

We want baby’s mouth to have a wide deep latch with most or all of mom’s ar**la inside. This is more likely going to equal…

Shout out to this amazing woman! 👏🏼

Brooke is our clinic’s office manager and she is just the greatest!

She brought a rose for all our mamas in clinic for Valentine’s Day! She has been telling them that they’re yellow for friendship, joy, and optimism and reminding them that we are thankful to be in their support circle. 💛💛💛

Our Story

We are two NICU nurses that became lactation consultants. Our goal is to help you find success on your breastfeeding journey. We can help in a few different ways. You can take our breastfeeding courses online or in person. Come for a private consultation Ogden Clinic in Farmington or our free Breastfeeding Clinic at Lakeview hospital in Bountiful on Tuesdays from 1-2. You don't have to do this alone, we can help!
