One of the highlights of our year has been welcoming the Glamour Gals from Viewmont High School each week! 💅✨

These amazing students started a club dedicated to connecting with seniors through manicures, conversation, and friendship. Our residents have looked forward to their visits every week, and we have loved watching the relationships that have formed along the way.

Their kindness, energy, and wonderful conversation have brightened so many days. While we’ll miss seeing them during summer break, we’re already looking forward to welcoming them back in the fall!

Recently, one of our talented residents shared her knowledge and taught us how to make homemade laundry soap! 🧺✨ We gathered in the activity room to learn the process, and everyone had a great time mixing, measuring, and hearing her tips along the way. The room smelled amazing for days afterward, and the finished product turned out to be some really great soap and the residents got to take them back to the rooms! Thank you to our residents for sharing their skills, talents, and life experiences with us.

After our program, we spent some time in the sunshine remembering our loved ones by writing their names on rocks and creating a beautiful poppy display in one of our gardens. It was a touching way to honor and remember the people who mean so much to us. Afterwards, we enjoyed some delicious red and white ice cream together. ❤️

Memorial day yesterday was a lovely day celebrating our country and remembering our loved ones. After a delicious lunch of ribs and smoked sausage we had a program with the national guard ROTC doing a flag ceremony, a reading of a poem by our resident John and some very wonderful words by Cece. Can we talk about how beautiful our memory care garden is looking these days! Our amazing housekeeper, Edelle, has a green thumb and offered to plant plants and keep everything cared for. It was just the touch we needed and gets more beautiful every day! It’s also full of herbs and edible things that we can use during our activities!
