Occasionally we will have guest speakers come to class to speak on a topic that pertains to Ems and how we need to treat or change how we assess a patient . We had Amanda come in and speak on how we as EMTs can treat patients who are on the spectrum. The so and don’ts, and how we need patience. We also have our own Chris talk on Patients with Down syndrome, as his cousin has Down syndrome.

Class 5 on trauma calls. This one is a freak home explosion, but they had to learn to work quickly to identify life threats, apply a cervical coller and properly place a patient on a backboard, all while conducting a thorough physical assessment .
This class has come a long way and will soon be ready for their mass casualty call next Friday!
