👀 What newborns can actually see? 👀
👉Very blurry vision: They don’t see sharp details yet...
👉Best at close range: About 8–12 inches--roughly the distance to a caregiver’s face while being held.
👉High contrast only: They respond best to black, white, and bold patterns, not soft colors or fine detail.
👉Faces are interesting early: Even though vision is blurry, newborns are naturally drawn to face-like shapes.
👉Color vision is still developing so color perception is limited
