The Arc of St. Charles

The Arc of St. Charles Providing services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in St. Charles Parish The Arc of St. Charles has been in existence in the St.

Charles parish community since 1971. We are a provider agency serving children and adults with developmental and intellectual delays in St. Charles Parish, St. John the Baptist, St. James, Terrebonne, Lafourche and St.Mary parishes. Our main site is located at 13771 Old Spanish Trail in Boutte. The main site contains our Day Habilitation program for adults. Hope Enterprise, a subsidiary of the Arc of St. Charles is located in Hahnville on the River Road. At Hope Enterprise is a vocational traiing program for adults with developmental disabilties. It is also site of two of our growing work entities which includes commercial shredding and Mardi Gras Bead collection. Our other facility is Cajun Village Square which serves as a training site for adults with disabilities. At Cajun Village Square, individuals receive the opportunity to train in a retail settings acquiring skills to adequately work in the retail setting. Cajun Village Square is a thrift store is is currently soliciting donations of apparel, furniture, appliances, and household items. We also have contractual services of Lawn Maintenance and Janitorial.

The Arc of St. Charles will be closed on the following days:

Thursday, April 2nd-Monday, April 6th. Our office will open back on Tuesday, April 7th with regular business hours, 8am-4pm.

Our Cajun Village Thrift Store will also be closed Friday, April 3rd and Saturday, April 4th. The store is usually opened the first Saturday of the month, but we will be pushing that back to Saturday, April 11th.

On March 11th, we lost a bright light at The Arc of St. Charles. Jimmie Diggs Jr. attended our Day Program daily and always greeted you with “Good Morning”. That’s something we shouldn’t have taken for granted. Jimmie we miss and love you so much! ❤️

Another year of Arc Fest in the books! Thank you St. Charles Parish Parks and Recreation for allowing us to come back and serve both East and West Bank Bridge Parks during Developmental Disability Awareness Month 💙 Thank you to all the staff (students included) for their time, dedication, and hard work as well! Another spotlight moment: This group of individuals has been working hard with our friends at Dufrene Building and we are so proud! They have been putting in great work and effort alongside the staff! We’re so happy that our individuals have not only been enjoying their time at Dufrene, but gaining job and social skills in their time there. 🌟
