MEDICARE Open Enrollment: What You Need to Know About DME Benefits - -

Medicare open enrollment starts in October each year. It’s essential to understand the difference between Traditional Medicare and Medicare Advantage Plans when it comes to Durable Medical Equipment (DME) benefits.

Key Differences:
Traditional Medicare typically provides more comprehensive DME benefits compared to many Medicare Advantage plans.

Some Medicare Advantage plans offer DME at lower values and may lead to higher out-of-pocket costs.

Many DME providers are out-of-network for Medicare Advantage plans due to lower reimbursement rates.

Important Changes for New Hampshire Residents:
Several Medicare Advantage plans in New Hampshire will be discontinued in 2025. Check with your provider to see if your plan is affected.

Renmar DME Recommendation:
Based on our extensive experience, we strongly recommend evaluating DME coverage when selecting your plan during open enrollment.
