1) Upcoming election of Board members: we have 3 positions that are up for election. Please consider running for one of the vacancies!

Not a meeting of the HOA but the next Citizens Advisory Council and Community Members Meeting is Monday, November 19, 2018, starting at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Fairwood Resource Center in the Fairwood Shopping Center, 12500F Fairwood Parkway, Bowie, Md.

This is an excellent opportunity to talk to some of the PG County police officers who service our area and also to meet with--and hear the concerns of--residents in the other communities surrounding ours.

There will be a meeting on Thursday Nov. 8 (6:30-8:30) at First Baptist Church of Highland Park to discuss building a multifamily dwelling of 125 units for the growing senior community in the area.

Hello Everyone ... This is a friendly reminder that we have an we have a Homeowners Association (HOA) meeting on Monday, May 21 at 7:00pm at the Vista Gardens Meeting Room, 2nd floor. I hope that all of you plan to attend!

Many of you received the official notice in the mail from MMI Management that this is our "rescheduled" ANNUAL MEETING ... meaning that we did not have a quorum of homeowners present (37) at the April Meeting and, therefore, we were not able to conduct the business required by our by-laws at the Annual Meeting which was to nominate and elect new officers for the HOA Board. At the "rescheduled" Annual Meeting we can proceed with this agenda regardless of the number of homeowners present.

Therefore, we will hold Elections for the 3 upcoming Board vacancies at this meeting. We will take nominations from the floor (i.e., from the attendees), and if any of you would like to be nominated--or to nominate yourselves--PLEASE come to Monday's meeting! After nominations are accepted, we will cast votes.

As always, we will have a Crime Report discussion of our Lake View community; AND our meetings always present the opportunity for us to share other information & tidbits (e.g., did you know about Vista Gardens WEST shopping center being developed in our area?) with each other since Lake View is a big community. You really do miss a lot when you don't attend!

Here are some of the Community Update items on the agenda for Monday's meeting:

Lake Victoria Lane cul du sac is currently experiencing brown water coming out of our pipes. We called the WSSC and they are sending someone to flush out the hydrants. Is anyone else having problems? One of our neighbors said that she saw people out running the hydrants this morning.
