New lashes. Same undeniable sass. 💁‍♀️

She was feeling herself after getting her eyelashes done. Then someone mentioned her age. Big mistake. The denial was immediate. The “f**k you” was legendary.

Dementia may take memories. But it cannot take her attitude, her confidence, or her refusal to be a day over fabulous.

What’s the funniest way your loved one has shut down an age question?

One thing about dementia great-granny? She’s gonna swing. Doesn’t matter who you are. Grandchild, caregiver, random visitor. If you’re in range, you’re a target. 😂

Dementia takes names and faces. But muscle memory? That swing is undefeated. Consider yourself warned.

Has your loved one ever surprised you with an unexpected skill?

This is dementia. The same questions, the same answers, the same gentle patience. He doesn’t remember his son. But he still asks about his grandkids. Still cares. Still tries.

That’s love. Not in memory. In showing up, over and over.

Have you had the same conversation on repeat? How do you stay patient?

gotta go. Aliens are coming.” — Every dementia nurse’s 3am reality. 😂

“Someone stole my box of candy! They’ll never be allowed in this house again!”

Ma’am... you ate it. Every last piece. The evidence is on your hands and your satisfied smile. 😂

This is dementia logic at its finest. The brain fills in the gaps with the most dramatic explanation possible: theft, conspiracy, a lifetime ban. Meanwhile, the real criminal is just sitting there, wondering who did it.

God help the imaginary thieves when she finds them. But honestly? We hope she never does. Let her keep her innocence and her chocolate memories.

What’s the funniest “crime” your loved one has accused someone of?

This is the dementia no one warns you about. The swearing. The personal attacks. The daughter asking for respect and getting “f**k you and your goddamn respect” in return.

She’s not a bad mother. She’s a woman whose brain is betraying her. But knowing that doesn’t stop the words from hurting.

If you’ve been cursed out by someone you’re trying to protect: you are not alone. It’s not them. It’s the disease. And you are still doing an incredible job.

If you’ve endured moments like this, drop a 🖤 so others know they’re not alone.

This is the dementia no one puts in heartwarming videos.

The patient saw a phone and thought it was a rake trying to kill her. Then came the accusations: “cheating,” “stupid,” “gutter thing.” Words meant to wound, coming from someone who doesn’t even understand what she’s saying.

This is not a bad person. This is a diseased brain, mixing reality with paranoia, fear with anger. And the caregiver? She just stands there, taking it, still showing up tomorrow.

If you’ve been called every name in the book by someone you’re trying to help: you are not alone. It’s not them. It’s the illness. And you are still doing an incredible job.

If you’ve endured words like these, drop a 🖤. Let each other know you’re seen.

04/10/2026

This is the side of dementia they don’t show in heartwarming compilations.

The cursing. The aggression. The “I don’t like you” from someone who once loved you more than anything. The anger that comes from nowhere and leaves you in tears.

Caregivers, if this is your reality today: you are not alone. It’s not your fault. It’s not them. It’s the disease stealing their ability to regulate, to remember, to be gentle.

And still, you show up tomorrow. That takes strength most people will never understand.

If you’ve been on the receiving end of dementia’s anger, drop a 🖤 so others know they’re not alone.

She sat at the table, surrounded by faces that felt like strangers. No recognition. No spark. Just quiet confusion.

Then her grandson walked in.

And something shifted. Her eyes found him. Her face changed. She knew him.

Dementia takes so much. But in that moment? Love cut through the fog. A reminder that even when names and faces blur, the heart still remembers who matters.

Has someone ever broken through the fog for your loved one?

Dementia may bring confusion and doubt. But in this moment? She heard she was beautiful. She hesitated, asked twice to be sure. Then she looked at her granddaughter and gave the warmest little compliment back.

That smile? That’s love. Still there. Still shining.

What’s the sweetest thing your loved one has said to you lately?

“Do you love me?”
“Yeah.”
“Tell me.”
“I love you.”
“How much?”
“Plenty.”

Dementia takes so much. But it couldn’t take his love for her. Not the words. Not the feeling. Not the quiet certainty in his voice when he said “plenty.”

She wanted the world to hear it. And honestly? So did we.

What’s the sweetest thing your loved one has said recently?

3am. Dementia patient won’t sleep. The caregiver’s dance moves are desperate. 😂
