During the Maryland General Assembly session, a licensed physician is stationed at the State House first-aid room to provide on-site medical support for lawmakers, staff, and visitors. They’re there to handle medical emergencies, minor injuries, and everyday health issues that come up during the (sometime long) session days. This role helps keep the legislative process running smoothly by ensuring immediate care is available right where decisions are being made.

I've got that Friday Feeling!
Just had an opportunity to share with GBMC - Greater Baltimore Medical Center Department of Internal Medicine at their Grand Rounds.
Thanks also to Maryland Addiction Consultation Service for the invitation.We talked about pain management and how we can take better care of people with chronic pain and substance use disorders. These conversations are so important—helping patients means understanding both the science and the human experience of pain.
Grateful to be part of the dialogue and to stand in front of a bit of Baltimore history—the Charles Street "Gatehouse" entrance (ca 1860) to the Sheppard Pratt side of the campus. A reminder that while medicine evolves, the mission of compassionate care remains timeless.
