Dr. Janelle Akomah is a doctoral - prepared nurse practitioner with over a decade of nursing care experience. She graduated from Towson University with a BS in molecular biology, biochemistry, and bioinformatics. She began an internship at Johns Hopkins Hospital in which she decided to pursue her advanced nursing degree. She graduated from University of Maryland Baltimore with a Masters in Nursing in 2009. She worked began working at Johns Hopkins Hospital right after graduation. Her passion for patient care and advocacy led her to pursue her Doctorate in Nursing Practice and become a family nurse practitioner. While pursuing her degree; she became faculty at Johns Hopkins School of Nursing.
She is still teaching at the University today. She entered the field of home health providing medical services to the elderly population within their home. Her interests include beauty and maximizing your personal health. Her passion for serving others is quite evident. Her unique treatment recommendations are tailored to each patient. When Janelle is not working, she loves to watch sports, travel, shop, and eat! She is a fashion enthusiast and a lover of people. She lives with her spouse, three daughters, and two dogs.
