July 7, 1956 - April 7, 2026

Henry Nelson “Hop” Hopkins, 69, of Woodford, Virginia, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026. Born in Richmond to the late Earl and Effie Hopkins, Henry spent most of his life in Caroline County, where he was known for his big heart, love of family, and lifelong passion for hot rods.

He found joy under the hood of a car, cruising in his beloved ’64 Chevy Nova—“The Flying Brick”—and sharing laughter and stories over Sunday meals of football, family, and food. A simple man with deep wisdom, his favorite saying was, “Don’t worry, you reap what you sow.”

Henry leaves behind his loving wife of 40 years, Penny A. Hopkins; children Erika L. Chapman (Troy), Keionnia N. Hopkins, and DaQuan L. Branch; nephew Cedric Hopkins; siblings Geneva Reynolds, Earl Hopkins, Curtis Hopkins, and Maggie Whitehead; and many relatives and friends who will cherish his memory.

In loving memory of Alton J Croxton.

Alton Junior Croxton saw his sunrise on August 29,1939 in Lottsburg, VA, and saw his sunset peacefully on March 22, 2026. Alton was one of eight children born to the late Agnes and Eugene Croxton. He was preceded in death by his brothers James, Eugene, and William, and his sister Shirley. Alton dedicated over 40 years of his life as a truck driver, traveling across the United States. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his son, Alton (Kim), four granddaughters: Colleen, Shauna, Destiny and Paige. He also leaves behind his special children: Maxine Gahagan, James Washington (Kim), Lisa Washington, and Rodney Washington. In addition, Alton is survived by his three sisters, Lucille Burrell, Dorothy Croxton and Elizabeth Richardson, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Timothy Mareese “Chuck” Brown, 60, of Woodford, Virginia, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at his home. Born on October 2, 1965, Chuck lived life to the fullest—radiating joy, style, and kindness wherever he went. A 1984 graduate of Caroline High School, he was known for his love of music, travel, and time spent with family and friends. Always impeccably dressed and proud of his Pittsburgh Steelers, Chuck will be remembered for his infectious smile, easygoing spirit, and the love and laughter he shared with everyone around him.

May we remember him not only for his warmth and charm, but for the lasting memories he gave us all. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Deaconess Edwina “Winnie” Deyo Woolfolk. Winnie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, and friend. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 58 years Irving Woolfolk, Sr., four children Kimberly Samuel, Lo**ta Thomas, Pastor Irving Woolfolk, Jr., and Ericka Woolfolk.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, 2026 at Jerusalem Baptist Church, 21180 Bagby, Road, Sparta, Virginia 22552, with a viewing one hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing Shirley Ann Boulware, born October 28, 1936, to the late Freddie Douglas Martin and Virginia Miller Martin, was raised in Bowling Green, Virginia alongside her eight siblings, all of whom preceded her in death. She was educated in Caroline County schools and was a devoted member of Shiloh Baptist Church before later joining St. John Baptist Church in Milford, Virginia.

Known for her gentle spirit and warm presence, Shirley dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker. She provided loving care to children in her home, took pride in her beautiful flower gardens—especially her geraniums—and was known for her exceptional cooking and hospitality.

She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 68 years, Ryland “Nunnie” Boulware; four children; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; extended family; her devoted caregiver, Phyllis Wilson; and a host of relatives and friends.

With heartfelt sadness, we share the passing of Shirley A. Boulware (October 28, 1936 – March 10, 2026).
Shirley Anne Boulware, age 89, of Ruther Glen, Virginia, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Henrico Doctors Hospital in Richmond.
She will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and the love she shared with her family, friends, and community. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit and warmth will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
