🧠⏱️ Every second counts when someone is suffering from a stroke. We're proud to provide rapid, lifesaving stroke treatment close to home through our stroke network, which includes five Advanced Primary Stroke Centers, one Advanced Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center and two Advanced Comprehensive Stroke Centers.

We're also proud to be part of our larger HCA Healthcare system of care, which collectively responds to strokes 45% faster than the national standard. We know door-to-needle (DTN) time is critical. Here, we explain what DTN time is and why it matters.

DTN time is the amount of time between an ischemic stroke patient's arrival at the hospital (“door”) and when they receive a clot-busting medication (“needle”) to help restore blood flow to the brain. The faster the medicine is given, the more brain cells can potentially be saved, helping to reduce the risk of long-term disability or stroke.

From flamingo prints and beach ball dreams to a radiant little sunbeam, our NICU babies at TriStar Centennial Children's Hospital are ready for their first summer!🌞

We are so grateful for our dedicated NICU teams and the compassionate care they provide to our tiniest patients. Across Middle Tennessee, we have six hospitals designated as Level II and Level III NICUs so we are able to quickly provide newborns the care they need when they need it.

A double delivery day 👶👶

Sisters Katey and Ally shared a once-in-a-lifetime experience by giving birth just five hours apart in adjacent rooms at TriStar Horizon Medical Center last month, deepening their already close bond. Their families expressed heartfelt gratitude for the exceptional care they received, especially highlighting Lorena Wair, a dedicated EVS team member whose quiet compassion left a lasting impression.

ICYMI: TriStar Centennial Medical Center and the Sarah Cannon Cancer Network has successfully performed TriStar Health’s first HAI Pump surgery.

This innovative implant delivers cancer treatment directly to the liver, offering new hope for patients. Helen, the first patient to undergo the procedure, explains how the advanced robotic technology is helping her fight cancer.

The surgery was a first for the Sarah Cannon Cancer Network.

Peripheral artery disease (PAD) is a condition in which narrowed arteries reduce blood flow to the arms or legs. It’s easy to mistake PAD for other conditions like hip arthritis or spinal stenosis, which means often goes undiagnosed. Many people with PAD don’t experience symptoms at all. That’s why awareness of risk factors – such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes and smoking – is crucial for screening.

Understanding the early warning signs is the first step toward timely intervention and better quality of life. In most cases, lifestyle changes, exercise and medications are enough to slow the progression or even reverse the symptoms of PAD, so talk to your doctor if you think you may be at risk.
