I love reminders of why I work in Corrections. I had a visit at the facility today from someone who is living, breathing proof that people can make drastic, life-altering changes for the better. A former felon who experienced multiple incarcerations, Kasey Teasley is now just a few short months from finishing a dissertation and completing her Ph.D. She is a licensed therapist with a private practice and has helped hundreds of people make their own positive life changes. There were people who once viewed her as a hopeless case. Today, Kasey is a source of hope and help to so many. She is an example of persistence, motivation, courage, and resilience.
