Well our local hospital is now running advertisements for their board members. It used to be the CEO on billboards.

First, in a decade of providing the best surgical care to my Owensboro community, I’ve never seen or heard of a patient coming to the hospital to see the administration or a board member.

Secondly, the advertisements I suppose allegedly give the community permission to call the board members’ businesses and personal phones with their complaints about patient care and complaints about good physicians leaving under duress. I guess if the board member says they don’t get involved with hospital operations, remind them of their advertisements and that they approve of administration’s actions.

Dr. West is a fellowship-trained, board-certified general surgeon, practicing in Bowling Green, KY. Dr. West has enhanced training in Pancreaticobiliary/ERCP and specializes in procedures of the hernia, pancreatic/biliary and vascular systems. As many already know, I am no longer taking patients to Perry County Memorial Hospital. Instead, over the summer I affiliated with Greenview Hospital in Bowling Green. This has been a fabulous affiliation as several have experienced. Greenview is reminiscent of the old Mercy Hospital many chose before the merger in 1996. It has that same compassionate care patients, physicians, and staff prefer. At Greenview, it is also refreshing to have a CEO and administration that is professional, supportive, and appreciative of my abilities and service lines I provide, which include vascular surgery.

We will be reopening my Owensboro office in the next few weeks. More information to come. In the interim, the Bowling Green office is open and available as needed.
