This is not to condemn the teachers I spoke to years ago at an elementary to help educate them about the impacts of rewarding their students with candy, but to say that some people just aren’t aware how bad it is. They asked me how much sugar was required in the diet. No refined sugar is required in the diet. When I work with parents, my hope is always that it will help them make healthier choices for their children as well.

I’ve had to reassess some of my views on seed oils based on the research showing their benefits. It seems we still want to consume a good quantity of omega 3 fats (such as from fish, algae, walnuts) to keep the omega 6 to omega 3 ratio in balance. Some seed oils may be extracted with things like hexane; however, I believe that has been shown not to be a problem because no residue remains.
